Manage episode 426769824 series 3583933
We're excited to bring you Yah Li Toh's fascinating keynote presentation, "Exploring Biophilic Design: a Balance for People and Nature." Which was recorded at the Guangzhou International Lighting Exhibition, June 2023.
Yah Li takes us on an insightful journey through her biophilic design project in Singapore within the hotel space, sharing the triumphs and challenges she and her team faced.
“In biophilic design, as lighting designers we need to bridge the gap in the different conditions considering the wellbeing of the guests and not having excessive light for the plants.”
“Usually grow lights are not well suited for the hotel setting. They consume a lot of energy and have poor optical control. We researched many brands to be able to understand this and to find something where we could control the beam, something that’s focussed. The best part is, that everyone told us they could produce grow lights!”— Yah Li Toh
