Consider the following scenario: You say a few sentences in a foreign language you just started learning with a heavy accent and native speakers seem to be very surprised and happy. You’ve been studying the same language intensively for several months or even years and native speakers don't seem to react to you in any particular way. In the first case when they judge your language abilities, they might say something like: "That's amazing!". In the second case: "Not bad.". This is a very interesting phenomenon called the Uncanny valley, which can be observed in several areas, in this case in language learning. In the podcast recording I talk about my experiences with it. Many thanks for the music to: @beatchild Song: Beatchild – It-starts-with-the-bass-beat-tape-vol-2 Website: www.beatchild.com
