The Hackergal Hackathon* is a nationwide annual event hosted in your very own classroom! Girls from across come together to explore the endless possibilities in code by participating in a virtual hackathon while working in teams and exploring their creativity. Hackergal introduces educators and girls to the unlimited possibilities of coding through our Virtual Hackathon Kit, developed by Hackergal’s team of experts. The Virtual Kit enables educators who have little to no experience in computer science to host a hackathon in their own classroom at NO Cost! • The full day, in-classroom hackathon program targets girls in middle school. • Educators and girls are given coding licenses to learn the basics of code through a series of web-based tutorials (30 mins each) prior to December 11th, 2019. • Girls will get access to the coding platform for a full year post hackathon to continue the learning the lessons and coding fun. * Hackathons occur the second Wednesday in December and first Wednesday in May respectively.
