Arguably, Rex Lawson could have been the most celebrated highlife musician of his era... He was young, vibrant, talented and a trailblazer of sorts. He'd infused great ideas into the highlife music, much different from the ones enjoying currency in West African countries of Ghana and Cameroun, and was already a national icon at a tender age of about 30. But, alas! Death struck and Lawson's story had a sudden end... Today, on Waju and his Jagbajantis, I present to you the beautifully painful story of one of the greatest musicians from the African continent, Cardinal Rex Jim Lawson!!!
