Episode 7 - Ashley Courtoreille on Being Brave, Living Courageously and Shakin' What Mama Gave Ya!
Manage episode 299515951 series 2926234
On this, the last episode of Season 1, we hear Ashley's story of how the weirdest combination of late night infomercial and taking a class way out of her comfort zone changed her life and the power that community, of belonging somewhere, can have on people. Listen to how the universal language of dance can connect us - to ourselves and to others. It's a bit of a longer episode because we cover a lot of ground that the pandemic has helped us to see more clearly and to highlight why we need to make sure that we see mental health not as something to be ashamed of, but to foster, support and publicly acknowledge as important - for everyone. Hope you listen in!
Listen wherever you get your podcasts - you can find Walking Alongside on Podcast Addict, Podchaser, Pocket Casts, Deezer, Player FM, Tune-In and of course Spotify, Google Player and Apple Podcasts - where if you can leave a comment or throw me some ideas of topics you'd like to hear about, that would be great.
Walking Alongside is written, recorded and produced by me - Charissa McKay (aka CharCharBinx) in my awesome basement home office/studio/craft room on Treaty 6 lands known originally as amiskwaciy-wâskahikan, meaning Beaver Hill House, in Nehiyawewin (Cree). There are other names, equally as meaningful, and I am grateful to those who were here before me, for the ability to call this place my home.
