National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - how to make it meaningful.
Manage episode 342656533 series 2926234
So it's another long weekend...how long before that's how people are going to view the September 30 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation? I don't know why we have Victoria Day...Labour Day - I vaguely understand, but that is so long ago, that I feel I have never viewed it as anything other than the last long weekend of summer. Remembrance Day is different - we have an obligation to remember and to never forget. Though tell that to Putin...But this inaugural (as a statutory holiday) September 30, I think needs to be more meaningful, and it's up to us to find ways to put it on the agendas of businesses, governments and any organization that purports to want to be doing something for the environment and the planet. The knowledge, or wisdom, is there, largely untapped because of arrogance. Hope you listen and maybe feel a wee bit uncomfortable. Because of course, this is just my perspective.
