So, picture this – today is going to be a scorcher with scattered showers and thunderstorms rolling in after 2 pm. You can expect a high near 101 degrees, but hold on to your hats because it will feel like a toasty 112 when you factor in the heat index. The wind will start calm and then shift to the west at around 5 to 7 miles per hour.
As we move into tonight, those scattered showers and thunderstorms will linger, mostly before 8 pm. The sky will clear up a bit, bringing a low around 80. The south wind will be hanging around at about 5 mph, eventually calming down as the evening progresses.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, there's a slight chance of more showers and thunderstorms after 2 pm. It's going to be sunny and hot again, with a high near 102. Heat index values can soar up to 109.
