Today in Washington DC, we're expecting scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. It's going to be sunny and hot with a high near 101 degrees, and the heat index could climb as high as 110. Winds will be calm in the morning, becoming west around 6 miles per hour in the afternoon. There's a 30% chance of precipitation.
Tonight, we'll still have scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. It will be partly cloudy with a low around 76 degrees. Winds will shift from south at around 5 miles per hour to calm in the evening. The chance of precipitation remains at 30%.
Looking ahead to Tuesday, there's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. It will be sunny and hot once again with a high near 101 degrees. Heat index values could reach as high as 109. Winds will be calm in the morning, becoming southwest at 5 to 7 miles per hour in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation drops to 20%.
As we move through the week, expect some showers and thunderstorms, especially on Wednesday with a high near 97 degrees. By Thursday, we could see thunderstorms in the afternoon with a high near 87 degrees.
