On July 11th, 2006, Mary Cooper, 56, and her daughter Susanna Stodden, 27, embarked on a hike along the Pinnacle Lake trail, located within the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest near Granite Falls, Washington. The remains of the 2 women were discovered just off the trail that same day. Authorities have not provided a motive behind the killings.
