怀师认为佛法应为解脱生死之实证科学，而非神祕而怪力乱神之说。他花两年半时间解说「成唯识论」，纯以慈悲为出发，破除神祕为基础。亦强调玄奘法师所提的「八识规矩颂」，让后来的行者，留意自身的起心动念，用科学态度条理分析，去恶存善，净化自身。并称「唯识」为净化人性的心理学，以其体会的内涵贡献给后来的行者。
