Weird Games and Weirder People

Navi is one half of A Couple of Drakes, the duo behind Court of Blades, Dead Belt, and a score of other badass tabletop games. A mother of two young boys, and an avid hobby collector, living in a haunted Victorian house in the Appalachian mountains.

I meet Navi and her partner Shawn through Tweeter and was impressed by their enthusiasm and their constant production of thoughtful and unique RPG ideas. We did collaborate on a small piece for Court of Blades and then I followed them from some distance. But I was super excited to have Navi here to talk a bit more about their work.

On this chat we talked about their games, how they work together, how their process work, how she has a very healthy way of looking at large works and not be intimidated, how she loves building things and taking something old and making it new somehow.

We also talk a bit about being parents, about her experiences with the supernatural (and she has quite a bit), and a lot more weirdness! We loved it! You will hear in our voices!
