Matt Finch is one of the fundamental figures of the OSR style of TTRPG, his works include OSRIC, Swords & Wizardry, the magnificent Tome of Adventure Design, and the super influential Quick Primer for Old School Gaming (among many other things). He is also the founder of Mythmere Games and is constantly making more and more excellent gaming material!

It's hard for me to put into words what Mark's work means to me. I don't know if my work would ever be the same without his. The Quick Primer for Old School Gaming, even though meant to help you play games inspired by the first editions of D&D, the document defined a style of play that is not really system dependent, and thus serves as a Game Design framework to design Old-School style games, without necessarily having to use old D&D-like systems. Well, at least that's how I've been using it!

But that is just one of the many incredible things he made and that I adore, and in this chat we got to talk a little bit about all of them. We chatted about what the OSR is for us, why we like it so much, how it is based on open-ended situations and improvisation, future projects, greek mythology, adventure design, and so many other things.

It was a great chat and even though we talked about so many weirdly wonderful things in a little over 1 hour and a half, when we were finished I felt I could have asked so many more questions and get som many more wisdom from Matt that now I want a "Matt Finch Returns" episode someday.

So listen up and get weird with us!
