Currently serving as the Executive Director of Alianza for Youth Justice and the Founder of Healing Ninjas, Inc., Hernán is dedicated to fostering sustainable community-driven solutions to combat youth incarceration and foster healing and wellness within communities. With a diverse background spanning juvenile justice, child welfare, mental health, corrections, and philanthropy, he brings a wealth of experience and passion to his work. Hernán's commitment to transformative change is evident in his involvement with the Youth First Initiative, where he played a crucial role in closing youth prisons and redirecting resources toward community alternatives. Recognized for his outstanding contributions, he has received awards such as the "Spirit of Youth" and the "Next Generation Champion for Change.” Hernán Carvente-Martinez is a Chicano, formerly incarcerated human dedicated to healing himself and building thriving communities.

Hernan addresses the urgent need for genuine conversations about mental health, especially among Latino males who have been system impacted.
