Content Creator. Creative Director. Designer. Speaker. It has been around a year since Matthew Encina began leading the freelancer life full-time. Over the past seventeen years, the LA -based creative professional had served as the creative director of Blind, a brand design strategy consultancy, and the chief content officer of The Futur, an educational platform for creative entrepreneurs. If you check out Matthew’s YouTube channel, you'll find his content to have this incredibly soothing and relaxing energy to it. His content often includes home DIY renovations, desk setups, and educational and productivity videos. Every time he posts a video, I always get so excited to watch them as does his audience. His channel hit a double milestone: Matthew has now uploaded over 25 videos and garnered over 25 million views. In this episode, Matthew talks about his upbringing and family, taking calculated risks and leaving his previous role, taking breaks and giving him space to rethink and refuel his creative energy, and we end the ep with some fun rapid-fire questions like how Anthony Bourdain is very influential in his life now and his favorite productivity products. An absolute pleasure chatting with him.
