In this delightful conversation, I chat with I have a very special guest, a well-known name in the music industry and an overall gem of a woman - Tania Doko, or perhaps more known as The Bachelor Girl.
We talked about her journey and success in the music industry, the power and impact of music, the importance of presence and connection, the importance of support and collaboration as well as touching on the motherhood juggle.
As one half of ARIA award-winning, Bachelor Girl, Tania has enjoyed much success with James Roche. In 1998 their debut “Buses and Trains” became an Australian and international smash, won a APRA song of the year in 1999, and made a huge mark in the U.S. It's still in the top 25 most played songs in Australia.
Tania created critically acclaimed electro-rock band/EP - SHE SAID YES supporting Darren Hayes national tour October 2007. This powerhouse of a woman has also been wow-ing global LGBT audiences with her explosive LIVE PA set, from Sydney Mardi Gras to Spain, to Manchester Pride.
Tania’s has many allocated as a songwriter and vocalist, proving her mark globally - featured and co-written with artists including The Veronicas, Taylor Dayne, Samantha Jade, Jessica Mauboy, Tina Arena, Delta Goodrem, George Sheppard, Kpop stars Jus2, Eurovision winner & Swedish Eurovision winner Mans Zelmerlow and Alex Curtis' Junior Eurovision entry 'WE ARE', to name a few. Her versatility has also seen her shine in the EDM world, streaming highly and featuring on major Spotify playlists.
Tania resides in both Sweden & Australia and is enjoying new success as a solo artist. Her recent participation in SBS's 'Eurovision-Australia Decides' and single 'PIECE OF ME' ignites an exciting, new chapter for this singer/songwriter.
Bachelor Girl is busy again on the festival circuit touring with Australian heavyweights such as Farnham, Icehouse, Reyne and Diesel. With Tania and James songwriting chemistry as strong as ever, Bachelor Girl continues to release new music, including their social conscious new single 'Speak'. As songwriter/artist and coach, Tania is also honoured to be an APRA ambassador for the Nordic Region, helping as the conduit for more great Aussie-Swedish collaborations.
