Join Allison Pontious and I as we discuss some of the professional development opportunities, technology, and personalized choice options Alli gleaned from her time at the PBS Lead Innovators Summit over the 2017 summer.

As you listen...

  • Consider potential opportunities for personalization by creating opportunities for students to demonstrate their understanding of a (any) concept through music.

  • Note how the challenge posed by a new learning context/opportunity forced Alli to grow as a learner and innovator. How might these practices be replicated in your classroom?

  • Reflect on Bray and McClasky's work that identifies the three stages of a personalized learning environment and consider how they pertain to learners having a choice in the way in which they demonstrate their mastery of content and skills.
