1 Corinthians 13:13 ESV

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Christmas time: Is a time of great hope for many, but also can be a time of great sorrow, pain and suffering. This teaching explores being sensitive to these moments and focusing on the Truth. In doing so we learn how to put emotions in the right order behind the thinking.

Two songs are highlighted, one sung by Peggy Lee, released in 69 -“Is that all there is?”– contrasted with a song –”Nobody knows the trouble I’ve Seen”– released and made popular earlier (62) by Louis Armstrong. These are illustrations of Hope verses Hopelessness.

Meditation: And what does God want for us in all this? Note: meditation requires hard work, focus, consistency and prayer. Make it a priority every morning.

We receive so much information, but do so little with the information we receive. Meditating on God’s truth will actually change your brain. He tells us these things to give us hope, give us help.

John 16:33 ESV

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Psalm 1:2-3 ESV

[2] but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. [3] He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.
