Content warning: violence, brutality, institutional abuse, child abuse, physical, emotional, mental, and sexual abuse, cults, kidnapping, and the troubled teen industry.
Matt Cohn is a business professional and musician from Los Angeles, California. His personal history with What Came Next host, Amy, begins in the early 2000s when they were connected through mutual friends. At the time, Matt had just been released from the troubled teen industry, and shared very little of his experiences of abuse. In fact, it wasn't until he watched the 2024 Netflix documentary, The Program: Cons, Cults, and Kidnapping, that he was confronted with the extent of all of the horrors he had seen and faced. Admittedly, it was a validating, eye opening experience for him to watch the documentary. The Broken Cycle Media team is extremely grateful for his candidness today, as well as all of his efforts he's making to change the troubled teen industry.
