This week, we look at a topic that has dominated the discourse surrounding Syria: media coverage and disinformation. Dr. Idrees Ahmad is lecturer in journalism at the University of Stirling with a doctorate in sociology and a focus on international conflicts. He is also the author of The Road to Iraq: The Making of a Neoconservative War. Idrees has spent years tracking online propaganda and its impact on the international response to events in Syria. As the title suggests, we get into the best and worst coverage of Syria since 2011, and run down the list of grifters who have made a career spreading disinformation. *cough* Max Blumenthal, Vanessa Beeley, Eva Bartlett, Aaron Mate, Rania Khalek *cough* Next week, we'll pick the main story back up with the events of March 15 to March 31, 2011.
