What is an anachronism? You may have noticed this in film and television, like a pirate movie where everyone is dressed in period clothes except for the guy in the background wearing a t-shirt and blue jeans, objects that don't belong in the depicted era that make the man look like someone from the future visiting the past. These happen accidentally in period pieces when television and movie makers miss details that are easily overlooked, but these sort of things never happen in the real world, do they? You may be surprised to find out that it occurs more than you might think.
