Liz Wheeler is the co-founder non-profit and micro animal sanctuary Secondhand Stories (https://www.secondhandstories.ca), based in Lombardy, ON. In this episode of What's Literacy? Jeff talks to Liz about her resident sanctuary rescue chickens, how books are helping raise the funds needed to care for the animals, how and why she got started, and how listeners of the podcast can support their efforts.

Listeners are encouraged to follow all of the adventures taking place on the sanctuary as well as support Second Hand Stories by either donating or buying books through their online shop.
