Kakana: An online fitness program for individuals with disabilities

For this episode of What's New in APE, I led a discussion with Matt Ney, who is the founder of the new company called Kakana. Kakana is a online service that provides physical activity opportunities tailored to meet individuals with disabilities' unique needs. More specifically, Kakana offers a wide range of adapted classes (e.g., yoga, mediation, cardio), a team of instructors (many of whom have disabilities) that are trained in working with people with disabilities, and a large catalog of fitness videos. In addition, this is Matt's second business in the area of health and physical activity, as he initially created a company Fitbound that focused short bursts of exercise, or brain breaks, for all children to do while in school. Within this podcast we discuss how and why he developed Kakana, the reasons he chose to be for profit vs. non-profit, and why this service is so unique.
