DSM Farmer’s Market:
Opening Day: Saturday, May 6th, 2023 @ 7AM
You can definitely get your steps in with how many streets are filled with vendors in the DSM Historic Court District.
I see our downtown farmers market is rated #2 in the nation by at least 2 organizations. (Shape Magazine and the Daily Meal)
I am always marching around looking for new food to try, and new items to buy that I haven’t seen before.
The entertainment is fun too. There must be two to three musical performers playing at a time throughout the Market each Saturday.
I loved seeing the specific booth for smaller, local vendors wanting to dip their toes at the Famer’s Market…
A fun experience is the Opening Ceremony with the bell.
Des Moines News:
Nearly 5,000 people participated in the DSM Earth day trash bash. Parks and Rec says volunteers picked up litter, planted trees and strawberries, and removed invasive species over the weekend. Learn More.
Gray's Lake Concessions and Watercraft Rentals will be opening in exactly one week on May 1st.
Ankeny needs more lifeguards this summer. The city says it needs 90 and they are a little over halfway there. Learn more and apply here.
The Drake Relays begin this week and the Drake Bulldogs contest is this evening.
