Des Moines News:

Excessive Heat Warning for pretty much the entire state. The National Weather Service says the Des Moines area could feel temps over 100 degrees Wednesday and possibly Thursday. We should return to the mid 80s by Saturday.

Back to School night for many Schools. Some businesses are helping teachers out:

- Peace Tree in East Village is offering BOGO draft beers to any school staff member this week through Sunday.

- Slow Down Coffee in Highland Park is giving teachers 10% off a drink of their choice this week.

The Hub Spot in downtown Des Moines is ready to party. The restaurant with a river view is renovated and people can make reservations for their event. The city says the Hub can host just over 50 people. View video.
