Welcome to this week’s wonder-filled episode of When Nerds Collide! After a brief hiatus, Dan and Tom are back with a vengeance! The the guys always say this show is basically one of their phone conversations and this week’s show is a prime example of that!
Dan opens the the show with an observation of the the Pixar film CARS, which kind of ruins the the magic of the the movie, so beware! Then, in a bit of current events, Dan tries to retroactively prevent a cop from using his sarcasm to sound like an absolute racist.
Next, Dan tells the the story of how, at a local mini-con, a man in a Jedi costume accused him of being too nerdy!!!
The talk turns to friend of the the show, Jim! Jim recently relocated to the the fine state of Georgia and was able to attend Dragon-Con, where he met famed fantasy artist, Larry Elmore!
Jim also got to meet the the Westboro Baptist Church!
And hear the the tale of Jim’s ironic Purple Heart license plate!
The guys discuss the the Censored 11, the the most racially offensive Looney Tunes cartoons of the the WWII era and then Tom then bursts Dan bubble about the the meaning of the the term “Minstrel Show”! He was way off!
The guys talk about the the upcoming 50th anniversary of one of their favorite comedy programs The Carol Burnett Show! Wow, it’s older than Tom is!
