What can we do to take personal responsibility for our health in the time of Corona?

That’s the question I posed this week to Dr. Shivani Gupta, a health expert who bridges an eastern and western approach to medicine. I’ve gotten to know Shivani closely over the last year as a client and friend. She’s the person I go to anytime I want to have a better understanding of my own health.

In this week’s episode, we discuss:

  • Why washing our hands and staying inside isn’t enough to support our immune systems.
  • What stress actually does to the body and how to manage it.
  • How to prevent chronic diseases so we have a better immune response for threats now and in the future.
  • What inflammation is and how it slows the body’s response to fighting viruses and disease.
  • Why diet plays a big role in inflammation and what foods to eat right now.
  • Why gut health is key to immune system response and how to cultivate more good bacteria.
  • Environmental factors that could be impacting your immune health.
  • What’s in Turmeric that makes it so potent for fighting inflammation.

About Dr. Shivani:

Dr. Shivani Gupta is unapologetic about helping women reclaim their vitality by integrating simple and effective Ayurvedic principles into everyday life. With a Masters and Doctoral Degree in Ayurvedic Studies, Shivani was driven by the desire to root out the alarming rates of disease and illness that plagues millions of Americans. She brings her expansive knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine to teach audiences how to prioritize self-care and intentional living. Shivani vowed to make her health a priority after witnessing her parents and grandparents battle diabetes and other health issues that were exacerbated by lifestyle choices. She has spent decades exploring the connection of mind, body, and spirit and studying alongside gurus of the 5,000-year-old philosophy of Ayurveda. She is also the founder of Fusionary Formulas, a line of supplements based on turmeric and Ayurveda, helping people reduce inflammation, support the immune system, and reduce pain.
