We all have different responses when we make mistakes, which depend on the “quality” of mistake, our experiences being “wrong” or inconveniencing others, and the state of our nervous systems. Taking stock of your current go-to thoughts and actions when a mistake is made is a great start for moving toward healthy, helpful responses — so you can more peacefully get on with your life when a mistake is made. Today we talk about mistakes we've made, how we move past them, and a series of questions you can ask yourself when a mistake is made: • What feelings/thoughts arise? • Am I afraid to admit this mistake? Why? • In the grand scheme of life, how important is this? • How likely is it that others have made a similar mistake? • What led to this happening? • How can I remedy this or offer a repair? • What does this mistake tell me about what’s going on in my life? About what I need? • Do I see a pattern of making this type of mistake repeatedly? What is that showing me might need to change? • What can I learn from this, or do differently in future? • What can I choose to focus on now? ************************************************************************ Every episode comes with prompts for journaling and reflection. You can find these, submit your Qs and topic ideas, and learn more about Georgianna and Steph at wholeheartedloving.com.
