What is Disruptive Innovation? The theory of disruptive innovation was first coined by Harvard professor Clayton M. Christensen in his book The Innovator’s Dilemma, published in 1997. The theory explains how innovation transforms an existing market or sector by introducing simplicity, convenience, accessibility, and affordability where complication and high cost are the status quo. Initially, a disruptive innovation is formed in a niche market that may appear unattractive or inconsequential to industry incumbents, but eventually the new product or idea completely redefines the industry. Today we'll discuss past innovations that have made our lives easier and are more commonplace. In addition, I'll discuss some of the technologies, though positive, that are making waves. About The Host: Roxanne Pappas is the Host of Wicked Green Energy, a show, dedicated to educating individuals about cutting edge green choices for the sustainability of our planet. She is also, an Independent Associate with Viridian International, a company that provides power from solar, wind and water generated here im the US, directly to you, right now. With minimal effort you can help Roxanne reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and save our planet for future generations. Get in touch with her today!
