The kids, many of whom are traumatized or have forgotton how to attend school, are a mess. The teachers, many of whom are quitting, are a mess. The powers that be, many of whom are stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place, want to pretend no one is a mess, everyone just needs a little "grace" and "self care"-and maybe a door decorating contest.
