Australia's number one, Simon Whitlock, might not have been at his best on Wednesday evening but he's safely through to round two of the William Hill World Darts Championship and Dan Dawson caught up with the Wizard at the Ally Pally.

Justin Pipe also progressed, but had to survive two match darts to do so and he spoke to Tungsten Tales following his tense encounter.

Attention then turns to Thursday's action, with Chris Mason offering his predictions for night nine, including Peter Wright's first match of this year's tournament.
