When it comes to off-roading rides, Ariel Motor Company knows how to do it right. The small British brand specialises in go-anywhere vehicles and is getting ready to roll out the second generation of its adventurous Nomad. They've made some serious upgrades to the original 2015 model, keeping only the steering wheel, pedal box, and fuel cap unchanged. The chassis is now 65% stiffer, and the suspension has 50% more travel. The previous Nomad used Honda's 2.4-litre K24 engine with a supercharger, but the new model gets a turbocharged 2.3-litre unit from the Ford Focus ST. The new powertrain kicks the output up to 305 horsepower and 518 Newton-metre of torque, a big jump from the previous model. There are plenty of additional options available including a driver-adjustable ABS, UV-protected bikini roof cover, and a rear-mounted rack.
