Another week, another sit down with Joe Brown as we hash out the details surrounding Apple News, and how publishing works at the start of a new era with Apple News. This week we are joined by Eric Steuer, and we chat about the recent release of iOS 9, and how we are publishing articles through Apple News. The process is largely about crafting specific documents from articles that we publish, and then post them to Apple. With this format, we can send content in Markdown format. Markdown was originally developed by John Gruber as a format to create an easy-to-read, easy-to-write format that translates well into HTML. Our method turns the format around and turns HTML into Markdown, for easy transport into Apple News. Have a question or feedback for Webmonkey? I’m WIRED software engineer @whyisjake. If you want to pitch Joe on a great app for WIRED you can find him on Twitter at @joemfbrown, and Eric Steuer's verified twitter account is here @eric_steuer.
