Following the loss of Campbell Live in May 2015, it became apparent that there was less intellectual journalism and honest discussion in New Zealand media. Wireless Watchdog rights this wrong, providing an independent and honest alternative for your current affairs. An authentic and uninfluenced programme free of corporate or governmental interference, Wireless Watchdog challenges issues of inequity and inequality affecting New Zealand. The programme features the top issues within current affairs, discussing the controversial topics that mainstream media glosses over. Interviews with key people and agencies provide listeners with the truth, as well as ‘Ken’s People’ – an interview with a New Zealander who is doing something neat and noteworthy in their community. Highlights of the show include interviews with Annette King and Russel Norman about the TPPA, Carol Ball from the Red Cross, Rob McCann from White Ribbon, Dan Corbett from TVNZ, and Mike Yardley from Newstalk ZB (who started his career here at Plains FM!). Here at Wireless Watchdog we value honesty, integrity and journalism free from influence – from political leaders to fellow journalists, the hard questions will be asked. Working within the healthcare and not-for-profit sectors, Kenny is passionate about ensuring there is equity for people who access services from these areas. Kenny is experienced in community broadcasting, having previously spent three years at Lyttelton’s community station hosting both an afternoon music programme and breakfast programme.
