Welcome to the first episode of The Mind Matters with Dr. Jenny Susser in conversation with Chris Stafford. The last few years of ground-breaking and shaking from the rise of the #MeToo movement. The #MeToo movement originated in the corporate world in 2006 and picked up a full head of steam in 2017 with a Twitter hashtag and resonance for women across the world. In the sports world, sexual misconduct, abuse, and harassment have been all too common for far too long… with little to no conversation about it. As with any movement, push back, resistance, and disbelief are perhaps the early winners, but determination and commitment are beginning to overtake and create a safer future for everyone involved. On this first episode Jenny addresses our belief system, reacting versus responding and our need to know to provide us with a sense of certainty.
