On this episode of Witnessing Greatness, Leisl Veach travels to Portland, Oregon to interview the founders and board members of two independently organized LGBTQ sports groups. The Portland Community Bowling League, which began in 1974, and the NetRippers Football Club, which is a mere ten-years old, have different stories, but similar aims. We discuss the importance of LGBTQ sports groups, the role of transgender community members, community service and political work, as well as how the groups have created safe and visible spaces for the LGBTQ community.
