Luke 10:4-16—Ambassadors of Peace Lesson 1: Christ’s ambassadors: (Part I) __________ __________ between God and man (Luke 10:5-6; 2 Cor 5:18-20; Rom 5:1, 10; Eph 6:15). (Part II) Are ________________ men (Luke 10:10-11 cf. Luke 9:53-55; Deut 20:10-13). Lesson 2: ______________________________ determines judgment (Luke 10:12-15, 12:47-48). Family Worship Guide Memory Verses: Proverbs 15:1 Day 1: Read Luke 10:4-16 and discuss: What specific instruction in regards to “greeting” was meant to communicate the urgency of their mission? In what sense did the 70 mean “peace” for those they would encounter? Consider your own circle of influence (those you encounter from your closest family, to familiar people you run into on your errands: which ones are not at peace with God, through the Gospel? Pray for opportunities to share the gospel with them. Day 2: Read Luke 10:4-16 and discuss: Why were the 70 able to peaceful men? When men rejected “them”, who were they actually rejecting? When was the last time you felt - or were tempted to feel - rejected because you shared the gospel with someone? Pray. Ask God to give you an opportunity to share the gospel and ask Him to save the person you share it with. Ask Him also for help to not take the (potential) rejection personally. Day 3: Read Luke 10:4-16 and discuss: Consider your own life. The last time someone ‘rejected’ you for being a Christian was it for sharing the gospel, or was it because of some political opinion you were advocating for? Consider your own life. What are you known for? Sharing the gospel, as an ambassador of Christ, or some set of political preferences, as a conservative, American? Also, why does accountability determine judgment? Prayerfully consider what specific ways this applies to you.
