Dr. Michael Goodman practices at IU Health Riley Hospital for Children. He suffers from Treacher Collins Syndrome, the same condition depicted in the movie Wonder that was released in November starring Julia Roberts, Jacob Tremblay, and Owen Wilson. Dr. Goodman was featured in a story by WTHR’s Anne Marie Tiernon (www.wthr.com/wonder) a few weeks ago. In this episode, Anne Marie asks Dr. Goodman how life has changed after he was featured on Eyewitness News (1:28) and what he initially hoped for when he first shared his message (6:06). Dr. Goodman talks about his background and growing up in Indiana (6:49) and why he chooses to have a positive outlook (15:20) plus how his parents reacted to his condition (26:36). Dr. Goodman also talks about his love for hockey (36:43) and wraps up his conversation talking about the importance of his message (42:10.)
