1958年，啟德機場正式成為香港國際機場； 1972年8月，香港海底隧道啟用； 1979年10月，地鐵通車； 1997年4月，青馬大橋通車； 1998年7月，赤 角香港機場啟用… 過往，香港進行了不少大型基建，落成後不單成為香港發展的重要動力，同時也成為我們生活的一部分。2007年施政報告公布了十大基建，經過數年的蘊釀，在未來數年將會陸續動工；除了十大基建外，香港還有許多與民生有密切關係的工程在進行中。它們的設計和興建過程其實饒有趣味，對於香港的發展更有深切影響。
