一場落雷使得龜山島的龜首側顧，轉頭的海上巨獸，如何預示著蘭陽平原上的族群興衰與生滅？
《噶瑪蘭志略》記載著一對不知為何出現在沓無人居的龜山島上的白鹿，一日被漁夫之子擒走其中的雄鹿，自此母鹿日夜哀鳴，卻再無人得見身影，故事的後續呢？被抓走的雄鹿怎麼了？或者說……抓走牠的人後來怎麼了？……我想起了那之後，曾經在宜蘭首屈一指、權傾一時、極富極貴的那戶人家，它的繁華與殞落……難道這是跨越200年，關於白鹿傳說的真正結局？
