Paul got to a scratch handicap using a cut down set of golf clubs, he represented Australia as an amateur. He won three times on the US Nationwide Tour, he earned his USPGA Tour card and still holds the record for the most number of birdies in a single tournament in the history of the PGA Tour. Jeff Sluman's ridiculously lucky bounce in a playoff in the 2001 BC Open cost Paul a 10 year exemption on the US Tour, He met the founder and owner of Nike Phil Knight a few years ago at Augusta.
