ESL Podcast: Giving Personal Information in English
Manage episode 308809248 series 3020759
ESL Podcast Number Three: This English as a Second Language (ESL) podcast is on how to respond when you are asked for personal information. When you meet someone for the first time, the person will probably ask you for your name. You want to be confident in your response, and also be able to provide other personal information when you’re asked for it. You will need to know the numbers in English in order to give your phone number and address. If you have not yet learned your numbers, then check out the previous podcast The Numbers in English.
Six questions
There are six questions in the podcast and sample answers to the questions. Listen to the podcast and practice saying your answers. To improve your pronunciation practice saying your answers out loud. The more you practice your responses the easier it will be when you need to answer the questions. Of course there are other questions that a person might ask you, but the questions in the podcast are probably the most common. The following are the six questions:
1. What is your name?
2. What is your last name?
3. Where do you live?
4. What is your address?
5. What is your phone number?
6. Do you have an email address?
Practice
There is also a YES, You Can Learning Tip with a suggestion on how to improve your responses to the questions. Listen to the podcast and find out what the tip is! Don’t wait until someone asks for your information, be prepared and practice your answers, and then you will be ready when asked.
