那年來自日本的馬戲團到台南表演，從未見過老虎的少年興奮不已，動物排泄物在夏日蒸騰的熱氣中發出惡臭，群蠅陪伴下，少年天天準時報到，練習著老虎素描，直到馬戲團即將離開的一日，他帶著筆墨完成水墨猛虎圖，本要送給天天私下放他進入的歐吉桑，卻吸引一對日本夫婦的注意，少年永遠記得兩人開心的向他九十度行禮致謝的笑臉。
這是六、七十年前的故事，也奠定楊智雄老師畫虎的絕技，生活偶感、新聞話題都是題材，每幅作品都有故事，今天一起聽故事囉！
