台灣加拿大商會是台灣最早的幾個外國人組織之一，同時也促成了加拿大貿易辦事處的成立，其影響力可見一斑。
除了提升商會成員的權益之外，加拿大商會的另外一個重要的功能就是透過社交活動連結台灣人、在台灣的外國人，以及政府，建立一個人際的網絡 -- 他們所舉辦的加拿大國慶日活動吸引了9,000人參加，是加拿大境外最大的國慶日活動。
