Your App Lady

Show Notes

Series 1 Episode 36

Welcome to series 1 episode 36 of the Your App Lady Podcast!

All about apps and tech that I love and use every day.

On each episode, I’ll talk about recent tech news, recommend apps that I use myself and leave you with a great tech tip.

Tech News

Robocalls have become a huge problem. The Federal Trade Commission received over 375,000 complaints about them each month in 2017. The included article outlines some of the steps you can take to decrease the annoyance of robocalls. Some of the tips include blocking each number individually, using a service through your phone carrier or using a third party app. The article also suggests that you don’t let them know you are a human (don’t speak or even push buttons on your phone), complain to the FCC and add yourself to the National Do Not Call Registry. Telemarketers are supposed to honor the National Do Not Call Registry. Add yourself to the list by visiting www.donotcall.gov.

Featured App: RoboKiller

Stop Spam Phone Calls by Tel Tech Systems for iPhone

I tried RoboKiller app on my iPhone after I registered several domain names and was overwhelmed with RoboCalls. Within the first hour, it had already worked on a number that continually calls me. The app allows you to set a feature to answer and record the call. I used that feature and could confirm that it was a sales call and not a call I really needed to answer. RoboKiller offers a 7-day free trial and then is $25 per year or $2.99 a month.
