This week I interview Lisa Nicolette about Mental Health/Illness and how she helps bridge the gap between the care her patients need and the resources that are available. Heads up: we recorded this podcast OUTSIDE and, well, that’s all I have to say about that. I’m still shocked that we managed to get it done. We decided that I (Meredith) Drink and Lisa Knows all the things (if you aren’t a GOT fan then I don’t know how to explain the joy found in one shirt). Enjoy!!!

Discussed in this episode:

Florida 211

Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness by Susannah Cahalan

No Letting Go – one family’s journey as their son struggles with depression, anxiety and a mood disorder.

Silver Linings Playbook starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence (seriously, Bradley Cooper y’all!)

What About Bob? is Lisa’s cringe-worthy movie pick!

On the fence about A Beautiful Mind. In a nutshell, good representation of schizophrenia as an illness and not so much as the reality surrounding the illness…

***FYI: that was Sprite in my glass and for dramatic effect only. With 8 kids on the loose we needed to be our best selves. But now that I am home, after being around EIGHT KIDS, I think I’ll uncork a nice red.
