Season 2, episode 23 of the 'You're Not On The List' podcast for Rewind That Track, and it's one for the garage heads and one for those who never give up on their dreams.
My guest this week is a fantastically talented DJ, producer and label owner. He’s part of the Southampton supergroup FooR, it’s Gavin Foord.
During this episode we discuss:
-How from childhood, he wanted to be a DJ and worked at one of Southampton's biggest record stores to practice mixing & tune selection, and sold his school dinners to fund his record collection.
-DJing up to 7 days a week around Southampton's clubs and student nights to hone his ability
-Starting the supergroup FooR, off the back of a remix request from a grime artist.
-Entering the Top 20 UK Album charts with their debut album and how much money they made from it
- The group being down to their last £££ and nearly jacking the dream in, before hitting their big break at one festival
-Securing a distribution deal with one of the biggest drinks companies in the world and having their music played globally across TVs, cinemas, ITV, Channel 4, Sky Sports for three years.
