When talking to our students about marriage, we tend to emphasize the concept of unity and the reality of living together as "one flesh." That is certainly needed and appropriate. However, during the season of engagement, the couple tends to be treated as if they are already united in that manner. The reality is that they are not, and the flood of emotions combined with the shock of multiple decisions needing to be made can not only be overwhelming...but lonely as well. Wedding planner consultant and educator, Amber Anderson, talks with Jeff about this overlooked season of relationships that can cause long-term detriment to mental and emotional health if it's handled poorly.
