《超驚嚇臺灣儒學》第八集要介紹台灣第一個社會學家、同時也是位講求「經世致用」的儒學者林履信 (1899 - 1954)。林履信年輕時在東京帝都大學文學部學習，專攻社會學，後來將所學到的社會學理論充分運用於探索中國傳統典籍，開創出一種有別於當時學者的嶄新觀點，以詮釋〈洪範〉中的「皇極」概念、《易經》等。
