据外媒《SamMobile》报导，Note 8 之所以无法在萤幕整合新的光感式 x指纹辨识器，是因为会造成萤幕亮度不均。据称在装上感测器的部分，萤幕亮度会显着较大，进而让整个画面的亮度失衡。不过，这项消息应该只是数个工程理由的原因之一，因为在先前韩媒的报导中，三星官方还谈到了「安全性」的理由，也是一时来不及使用这项设计的原因。
不过，目前来看，为了让「Infinite Display」能发展，萤幕指纹感测应该还是会如期推出，只是可能会延至明年年初、大约是 Galaxy S9 的上市日。此外， Galaxy Note 8 为了要避免去年电池炸燃的问题，此次也计划比往年略晚一些发表，可能会到 9 月的 IFA 展，但其实与先前提过的 8 月底相距不远。
