Welcome to Blue Genes and Boots everyone!
In our pilot episode, our two hosts Serina Taluja and Joshua Meehan sit down with local TAMU legend Dr. Clint Magill to discuss his beginnings, his lengthy scientific career, and get his take on the graduate school experience.
Dr. Magill is a seasoned plant geneticist who has been teaching and doing research at Texas A&M for decades, having taught many of our current faculty in their graduate days. Ever dedicated to the education of bright-eyed aspiring scientists, Dr. Magill still teaches the entry Gene 603 course; meaning he’s likely to be the first professor every TAMU Genetics student has been taught by. Join us as we pick his brain to get his perspective on everything from the Elm trees of his youth to the difficulties of training graduate students as a PI.
